In Kenya, we shall be trading under the name “Agema Analysts in association with SMC Law”. Our Kenya team is committed to delivering the same high-quality, personalized and dedicated service that our individual clients have always experienced. The Agema Analysts SMC team will serve our clients requiring professional and cutting-edge legal services in Kenya and at the same time assist new market entrants and investors interested in Uganda, Tanzania, and the wider eastern Africa region. This strategically compliments our geographical reach and legal cross-border service offering for our clients in the African continent and the Middle East in addition to our existing offices in Hamburg (Germany), Dubai and Abu Dhabi (UAE), and Cairo (Egypt).

In Kenya, the Agema Analysts SMC team will be managed by Gregor Pannike and Divinah Ongaki as the firm’s Managing Partners in the Nairobi and Mombasa Offices respectively. Gregor Pannike is the founder of Agema Analysts and a German-qualified attorney-at-law admitted to the courts in Germany and a practicing legal consultant in the United Arab Emirates. He has more than 17 years of legal advisory experience in various legal fields including M&A and JV advisory work, distributorship and franchise laws, IP Laws, Corporate Governance, investment structuring, compliance. Divinah Ongaki has a broad range of experience in various sectors with over 7+ years of PQE in Kenya in the legal cross-border corporate, commercial real estate and construction field amongst others. Divinah Ongaki is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a registered Notary Public and a Commissioner of Oaths.

The Kenya team also includes Elizabeth Omol, a legal advisor for local and for legal cross-border matters at Agema Analysts in the Nairobi office. Elizabeth has experience working as a corporate commercial lawyer in various law firms advising on corporate and regulatory risk and compliance. She has worked as a Legal Associate in a Kenyan law firm, a Legal Compliance Associate for a remote-based Australian technology start-up, and a Risk & Compliance associate for a reputable pharmaceutical company in Kenya.

Additionally, the Nairobi office is privileged to have Christian Ancker as the Senior Strategy. Christian has specialised in advising companies in strategy, M&A transactions, restructuring, and corporate succession. Before joining Agema SMC Kenya, he worked at a large German bank in commercial banking, specializing in renewable energy and sustainable solutions before taking over a mid-sized machinery company. He has served as a Managing Director and investor in several companies.
